Greg Fish is a serial entrepreneur, technical expert and thought leader in the field of photonic integration with over 20 years of experience in building companies to commercialize Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs), both silicon and InP based.
After receiving a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UCSB, Greg became a co-founder and key leader at Agility Communications from 1999-2005 which was formed to commercialize tunable lasers based on PICs for telecommunications applications using technology pioneered at UCSB. The business was acquired by JDSU in late 2005. Greg continued the innovation trajectory as an early principle and CTO of Aurrion Inc. where Greg was responsible for organizing the development of leading-edge, heterogeneous silicon photonics technology that enables unprecedented capability for photonic integration. This lead to the acquisition of Aurrion by Juniper Networks where Greg continues to apply technical leadership as a Distinguished Engineer to help Juniper transform the way optical interconnect is deployed in cloud data centers.
When Greg is not helping founders, he enjoys playing with complicated things, like his wife and daughter, fine cooking, bbq, orchids, beer, wine, and mixology.
